Here is a living local tradition that if you rub water from St. Patrick's Knee on warts or other skin conditions they will be cured.
The only condition is that you do it first on a Monday, again on Thursday and finally on the following Monday. You bless the wart or skin condition with its water, make the Sign of the Cross while reciting the Our Father, the Hail Mary and the Glory be to the Father. These prayers are said to honour St. Patrick.
Legend has it that St. Patrick was escaping from angry locals at Caulry and, after jumping Breensford river, fell on his knees where he left his mark on the rock.
Photographs taken on Sunday 21st June 2009 will be back up again shortly.
