Tara to Slane pilgrim walk – Bealach an tSolais – 30th August 2025:

The annual pilgrim walk from the Hill of Tara to the Hill of Slane will take place on Saturday 30th August.  This year marks the 25th anniversary of the first pilgrimage for the Great Jubilee of the Year 2000.  Tara is associated with our pre-Christian history while Slane, according to tradition, is the site where St. Patrick lit the Paschal Fire for the first time in Ireland.  The walk is therefore a journey towards the Light of Christ, the source of hope on our pilgrim journey through life.  The walk is 15 miles (24 kms) long and winds along country roads through Skryne, Walterstown, and Beauparc, before crossing the Boyne at Slane.  For information and registration, contact Navan Parish Office at 046-9027518 or office@navanparish.ie
