First Confession and First Holy Communion

First Holy Communion and First Confession are major milestones in a child’s faith journey, marking their first reception of the Eucharist and the sacrament of reconciliation.

In Tubberclair, the preparation for these sacraments is a collaborative effort between the parish and Tubberclair National School, where children are introduced to the meaning and significance of these sacraments through lessons and activities. The celebrations are held annually, ensuring that each child is well-prepared and supported by their family, the school, and the parish community.

"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these."

Mark 10:14

"The Eucharist is the source and summit of the Christian life."

Lumen Gentium, Vatican II

Prayer for First Holy Communion

"Dear Jesus, thank You for the gift of the Eucharist. I humbly come before You to receive Your Body and Blood.

Help me to grow in Your love and to live my life in Your service. May this special day strengthen my faith, and may I always remember Your great love for me.

Amen."
